3 Generations say Hello to Mexico!

This trip tells me I am truly blessed.  We were coming up on my beautiful Grandmothers 80th Birthday and my mother and I decided to take her to Mexico to celebrate.  This was a once in a life time trip to get three generations together on a plane for an adventure.  Many of the stories that will make us laugh so hard we would cry are private, but I can still tell you, if you have any chance for a trip like this, TAKE IT! If a picture could paint 1,000 words....
I had a limo pick gram up in style for the airport, it was an 80th Birthday after all!

I'm telling you, she is a blast!

Just another day in paradise

So gram does not "swim" in the pool, but she loves the "swim up" bar, so she rides in style

Cleaning out the Fridge!

The other day my girlfriend and I were out shopping and discussing how summer is always the hardest when it comes to clean eating. There are so many outdoor happy hours, BBQ's and parties to compete with.  Not to mention all the beach and boardwalk trips that lend to a slice of pizza.  After a month of indulgence, it is time to clean house.  You all know my feeling of your body is your temple, you are what you eat.  (cue "I don't remember eating a sexy beast" joke :)
So I finally got to whole foods today to get started.  Since last nights dinner was an apple, goat's milk yogurt and almonds- I knew it could not wait any longer! I will be posting the healthy choices and photos here so feel free to follow along, steal ideas and add any comments or helpful ideas of your own.  I love to hear from my readers! Remember if you email me privately your tips can only be read by me, if you share on the bottom of the page you can help everyone!
Here is what we are going to be working with this week:

The bulk of the trip.  Especially excited about finding dark chocolate coconut milk.  I don't eat dairy but I have grown to love almond and coconut milk much much more! Apples, mango, carrots, brussels sprouts, romaine leaves (bread substitute) grass fed ground meat, organic chicken sausage (local farmer), avocados,  big container of spinach for smoothies and dinner!

How adorable is this apple?  I saw the leaf and had to have it. Now I just won't be able to bring myself to cut it up! I think they stole it from the Snow White  set.

This is lazy of me but my little indulgence.  Perfect salad topper: goats cheese,  cranberries, crushed pecans
Wild caught Mahi Mahi <3 *avoid farm raised whenever you can
My eggs are organic, cage free (free roaming) and fed no animal by product (yuck)

Because my shopping got me home late I packed up this little to go box for dinner. For dessert I had a small piece of 80% cacao chocolate (well not too small)

Happy Healthy Eating

50 Shades of Oh My Goodness

Spoiler Alert: If you did not finish all the 50 Shades Books, you may want to wait to go further.

Ok, before I start doing the writer thing and make a mockery of this, let me loudly exclaim, "I AM A HUGE FAN."
I was a sucker for the romance in the Twilight Saga books.  I ate up the Katniss/Gale/Peeta love triangle within the Hunger Games.  I am a die hard romantic, forever waiting for Prince Charming moments.
But lets be honest, as sexy as Gale is, he never tied up Katniss and taught her a thing or two.  (Did no one else google some of that to see if it can be done?) Let's be frank, an orgasm by touching my foot? Prove it.
And I love the passion between Edward and Bella, but he was always afraid to touch her for so much of the book.  "JUST GET IT ON", I had screamed many times in the three days it took me to finish all the books.
So you can imagine my surprise when the door to the Red Room opened.  I literally put my book down for a moment and asked myself if I wanted to take this adventure with innocent Ana into a land that strayed slightly left of even my idea of kinky.  Holy hell, I do not want to read about butt plugs and chain whippings I decided, as I picked the book back up and continued to read. And read and read. It was impossible to put down.  A porn written specifically for women that pushed everyone's idea of what is ok in the bedroom. Well hello America, welcome back to the game.  Dr Phil said it was saving marriages! TV ratings were dropping because all the sudden there was something more fun to do then watch your  favorite show (ok, that one I am just guessing, but there was less TV in my house) The book held my interest and more, and for that, I love it. (and **E L James)
Now here is the other side of the coin.  Ladies, really?!  This is exactly what we wouldn't want our daughters to read and get caught up in.  Saving the damaged guy. Who happens to also be controlling and have some serious mommy issues in the bed.  Lets set this realistic stage, shall we...
A very plain Jane, innocent young girl, meets Mr Savvy.  He is rich beyond her wildest dreams. He is successful and smart.  He has the business savvy of Bill Gates, the body of God, a smile that melts women to the floor, and a string of beautiful women behind him that would die for his attention.  This fucke* isn't even 30 yet.  Oh, and least I forget, his favorite past time is driving women crazy in the bedroom with his unparalleled skill of making you climax, when he says so.
Enter: Plain Jane, who wants to be in a loving relationship with this man who has been to this point, unable to enter an emotional relationship with any of his "lovers".  And she fixes him!  Yay!
Girls: seek out damaged man and you can fix him! If you stick around long enough and give in to his crazy requests he will come to love and respect you.
Not the best underlying story note.  But hey, fiction is for fun. And this book had every angle fun needs. I am waiting with bated breath for the movie. Lets go Hollywood.  Until then, Laters Baby.

**E L James was not a published writer prior to Fifty Shades.  Lets give it up for the power of the pen in a women determined!
